Make sure your plan for achieving your goals is both realistic and has as many details as possible as to how you can get there. I want to lose 50 pounds by the end of the year, but I have not thought about or written down the steps that it would take to get there. Perhaps you’ve done this before and set targets so high that no one would have the ability to reach them. Then reality sets in, and you’re left feeling disappointed in yourself and thinking that you are nothing but a failure since you didn’t succeed in realizing your goals.

What Are Goals?

One way to define the word goals is to grab hold of the power of positive change with an enthusiastic mindset towards achieving them! Imagine a journey where every step forward brings you closer to your dreams. With the magic of goal-setting, you hold the key to transforming DREAMS that you can actually touch, feel, smell, and hear!! 

Picture this: by going on a well balanced diet, you’re not just shedding pounds, you’re sculpting a healthier, happier you! Every ounce lost is a victory, fueling your journey towards success. But it doesn’t stop there; this mindset applies to every facet of our lives.

Have some common sense people!  Goals and setting them are not that difficult if you set them small enough so that the outcome that you want to reach can and will be accomplished. Perhaps you’ve done this before and set up a goal for yourself that was absolutely out of this world. For example, this year, I want to make 100,000.00 dollars, but as of this very moment, I do not have a plan for how I can achieve this. So, the reality is that I am actually setting myself up for failure. No one else but me is the cause of this because I am the one who did not put forth the effort to make it happen.

Goals need to have a time limit

If you give yourself a date as to when this goal is to be completed, this will definitely help you attain it. If you let yourself ponder this, it will enable you to procrastinate and therefore increase your chance of not reaching your goal at all. Having a “Deadline” will help you stay on task with what you need to do because it is vital to completing your mission. Many times I look back to my younger days and see just how much I would dream big, but not once did I ever achieve it. Would you like to know?

As you complete them, cross them off to create a visual record of your success.

Easter Dawn, Halleluia He has risen. It is always a special day that we Christians celebrate among both children, young and old.  Oh my, I do not know where the time has gone. The reason is that the last time I used a page similar to this, my granddaughter was 6 years old.  Time flies by; she is 8 now, and her baby sister is 3. She still thinks painting eggs and searching for them in a hunt a few hours later is fun. But as she gets older, her understanding of the true meaning of Easter has become very clear to her.

Does anyone realize how much Jesus took the criticism, the doubt of his people, and the denial by one of his own! How terrible it must have been. But it did get worse, not for us, mind you. It did for Jesus when, ultimately, he sacrificed himself for us all.

Easter Dawn. What a beautiful story of triumph and glory! As we are walking through the path of our lives, we need to remember that there will be many bumps in the road, and unfortunately, we as humans tend to make those bumps bigger than they need to be. There is no one else to blame.

There are a lot of ways we celebrate here in the United States one holiday after another, and Honor and Glory need to be one of them.  We just finished celebrating Mother’s Day yesterday. Then here comes summer.  Graduations, weddings, or perhaps just end-of-school-year parties.  Well, as we go through the next three weeks and beyond, amid all the celebrating I would like to ask all of you to take a moment.  If you realize that you are passing alongside a veteran….take a minute to thank him or her and salute them.  Thank them for their service.  It may not mean very much to you but, it will mean the whole world to them.

My husband is a service-connected veteran who fought in Desert Storm.  His tour started in 1991.  At one point in time, he was in Iraq, fighting fires in the oil fields.  A sarin gas bomb exploded.  Yeah, he was wearing a gas mask, but that gas mask failed.  Needless to say, without having to go much further, his world was forever changed after that event. It has been a difficult road for him since that time. He has had his ups and downs, but honor and glory have followed him throughout his entire life.

Thousands of veterans have come home and are constantly struggling with the thought that they have done this for nothing.  No one cares.  Hundreds do not have family support or do not have a place to call home. Seriously, I have heard this time and time again.  So, please, when I ask you to take a moment,. Listen to me and do so.  Remember them not only this Memorial Day weekend but every day that you encounter them.

My husband and I are members of the local American Legion. Have been for the past 6 years. One of the goals that we have set forth for the post is that every Memorial Day weekend we honor those who have fallen here in our town by placing small American Flags by each gravesite of those who have served this great country. As we were leaving, we drove by a couple of women, and we received a thank-you. You see people even doing something so simple as placing a flag by a grave, which can mean ooooo so much to someone even though you don’t know them.

They put their lives on the line for us. Don’t you think it’s worth taking a moment out of your busy schedule to say thank you?
